Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Does the software work on Mac OS?
Currently, the software is only available for Windows OS. If you have a Mac OS then you will either need a dual-boot system that is capable of running the Windows OS or you need software such as a parallels desktop that can run the Windows OS on a virtual machine.
What is the size of the installation file?
The software is about 100MB in size. Note that the add-in file is only around 200KB to keep the file size small. Only when you click on the Sigma Magic button is the rest of the software loaded into memory.
What version of Microsoft Excel is required?
You will need Microsoft Excel 2013 or a later version. Although the software is compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems, it is recommended that you use the latest version of Excel on a 64-bit system.
How do I determine what version of Excel is installed on my computer?

Excel 2010

When I install Excel on my computer, I do not find any menu items when I click on the Sigma Magic button on the main menu bar. There may be multiple reasons why the display of menus may be blocked on your computer. First, Excel may be blocking this action. Verify that the software is installed in a folder located in a trusted area of your computer. To verify this, click on File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Trusted Locations and ensure that the folder where you installed the software is listed as a Trusted Location. If not, add your installation location and save these settings. Then, close and reopen Excel to see if this resolves your problem.
The second problem is that some Anti-Virus software on your computer may be blocking the Execution of this software. You can temporarily pause your Anti-Virus software to see if this helps with the appearance of the menus. If you find that your Antivirus software is blocking our software, please contact our support team, and they will work with your Antivirus provider to report the False Positive detection and resolve this issue for you.
Why is my software displaying an 'Invalid Date' for the license validation under the License Manager?
For certain types of licenses, the software needs to rely on your computer system date. During installation, if it detects that your computer's system date is incorrect, it will report an 'Invalid Date' issue for license activation. To resolve this issue, please update your system date and then attempt to reinstall the license key.
Why is my software reporting an inability to connect to the Internet for license activation when I am actually connected to the Internet?
The software utilizes Transport Layer Security (TLS), a protocol designed to secure data during transmission over a network. The license activation requires the software to check with the server to verify if the specified license key is valid. If it is unable to use the TLS protocol, then it may report that there is no Internet access. To enable TLS, run the Internet Options command under Start > Run, then click Advanced, and select the checkbox "Use TLS 1.2."
