Overview

There are a number of different places where you can find help for the software.

Main Menu Help

An example screenshot of the main menu bar is shown in the figure below. Help Window
The Help button on the main menu bar will take you to the software support page. This page is protected by login and is not open to the general public. However, users of the Sigma Magic software can request for account access and view this page. When you click on the Help button on the main menu bar, it will take you to the support website. The login screen will be displayed if you are not already logged in. Support Window
This page contains the following:
  • Knowledge Base: The Knowledge Base contains articles about the software usage and its functionality. You can use this as a self-help portal to search for relevant content. This content will be built over time and it is expected to be a primary location where users can look for help for the Sigma Magic software.
  • Tickets: The Tickets section contains a list of all tickets submitted for the email id you have specified within the Sigma Magic software. You can view the status of existing tickets, or open new tickets on this website. You will find comments received on the tickets. You can close tickets for those items that have been resolved or re-open tickets if the problem has not been resolved.
  • Community: You can post comments in the community forum for discussion with other users of the software. This feature is currently disabled to block spam but may be enabled in the future.
You can create an account on this website using one of the following methods:
  • When you encounter an error and create a ticket within Sigma Magic software, an account is automatically created for you.
  • You can click on the About > Contact Us button within Sigma Magic software and then click on Request Access to create an account.
  • You can email our technical support team and they can help create an account for you.

Software Help

If you are looking for the help manual, you can click on the Help button available within each of the dialog boxes. A sample screenshot is shown below. Help Window
1
Help Button: You can click on the Help button on any Analysis Setup dialog box to open the help file. Note that this will open the context-specific help for that tool.

You can also open the help file by clicking on your keyboard's F1 key. The Help file contains brief information about the application that you are currently working with. The application is obtained from the currently active worksheet you are using. It includes information on how to add the tool, how to interpret results, and any frequently asked questions for that tool. An example screenshot of the Help menu is shown in the figure below. 3
Contents: You can use the Contents section to search for the specific topic that you are interested in. The help for that topic is displayed in the main window when clicking on the topic.
4
Index: The Index section contains a list of keywords. If you are looking for a specific keyword by topic, you can use the Index section to look for the help topic.
5
Search: You can use the Search bar to search for specific terms of interest to you, and the software will list all the help topics that contain these search terms.
6
Print: You can use the Print button to print out specific help file contents if you want to have a written record of the help file for offline reference.

FAQ

This section contains some frequently asked questions. If you have other questions about this module, please get in touch with technical support.
Why do I get an error message when I click on the Help button?
If Microsoft Internet Explorer is not installed on your computer, you cannot view the online help file. You can specify your browser in the Optional settings within the software.
How do I switch between the help file from offline viewing to online viewing?
You can view the help files either offline on your computer (without access to the Internet) or use the Internet to connect to our website and view the help content on our server. You can change this default option by clicking the Options menu button on the main menu bar.
Why do I need to login to view the support page?
In addition to viewing the knowledge base, the support page also enables you to open tickets and/or view existing tickets. If this page is not protected by a password, we receive a lot of spam. Hence, only valid users of Sigma Magic software are allowed to view and post to this page.
