Software Installation
Requirements
To use this package, you need to have the following requirements:- Windows Operating System: Windows 7, 10, 11
- Minimum Memory Requirement: 1 GB
- Minimum Disk Space Requirement: 256 MB
- Excel 2010 or later
- Analytics tools require R Software Version 4.0 or greater
Software Download
You can obtain the latest version of the software from our website using the following link:https://sigmamagic.com/pages/download.php
The setup file is roughly 90 MB. Our company, Rapid Sigma Solutions LLP, will digitally sign it to ensure that it has not been tampered with.
Make sure to download the software only from our official website.
Software Installation
Use the following steps to install the software:- Double-click on the Sigma Magic Setup.exe file to launch the software installation on your computer. The setup screen will show the details of the installed software, as shown below.
- Next, you will be asked to accept the license agreement. Carefully review the terms and conditions, and if you agree to the terms of the software, click on the "I accept..." radio button and then click on Next to continue. If you fail to accept the terms, the software will not be installed on your computer.
- You will be asked to select the destination location for the software (if this is the first time you are performing the installation). If you install the software as an Admin, the default location is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Sigma Magic". If you install the software as a regular User, the default location is C:\Users\Name\AppData\Local\Sigma Magic folder. You can accept the default or change the destination folder. If you do change the install location, please make a note of this directory for future reference. Click on Next to continue.
- Finally, click on Install to proceed with the installation. If you receive any error message, the installation does not proceed normally. The installer will check if you have a valid install of the Microsoft Excel software, and if it does not exist on your computer, the installation will not be completed. You should see a message box if the installation proceeds normally, as shown in the figure below.
- This completes the installation of the software. If you encounter any problems, the setup will automatically delete any temporary installation files and exit the installation.
- Once the installation is completed, open Microsoft Excel, and you should see Sigma Magic software menus in Excel on the right-hand top corner of the software menus.
- Code 0: Setup was successfully run to completion.
- Code 1: Setup failed to initialize
- Code 2: User clicked Cancel in the wizard before installation
- Code 3. A fatal error occurred during preparing to move to the next installation (like disk full or lack of memory)
- Code 4 Fatal error during actual installation
- Code 5. User clicked Cancel during actual installation
- Code 6. Setup process was forcefully terminated
- Code 7. Package rejected during install
- Code 8. Reboot is required
- Code 11. Application already exists
- Code 12. Installation already in progress
- Code 13. Network failure error
Software Uninstall
You can remove the installed programs at any time. Go to your control panel and click on Add-Remove Programs. Search for Sigma Magic in the list of programs and double-click on the Sigma Magic program to uninstall it from your computer. Click on Yes to uninstall all components of Sigma Magic from your computer.
Once uninstallation has been completed, you will be notified that Sigma Magic software has been removed from your computer.
R Software Install
To install the R software on your computer, use the following steps:- Download the R Software to your computer by visiting this website: https://cran.r-project.org/bin/windows/base/
- Once the software has been installed, link the RScript.exe file to Sigma Magic software by clicking on options button on the main menu bar and specify the RScript file within the External Files tab as shown below. Click the Browse button next to item #4 and specify the RScript file. A checkmark is shown next to the browse button if the link is successful.
- If R software is not installed, you cannot use the Analytics tools within Sigma Magic software. Note that the other tools used within Sigma Magic (such as Graphs, Lean, Projects, Stats, etc.) can continue to be used without the R software.

What is the size of the program?
The size of the setup file is around 95 MB. The setup file will install the required files on your computer. The main add-in file loaded when Excel is started is less than 125 KB. The add-in file is intentionally kept small, so there is not much overhead when you do not use Sigma Magic software. The main software is loaded into memory when you click the Sigma Magic button. The software is roughly 20 MB, which is required to use Sigma Magic functions. Since the program is not loaded into memory by default, you may have a short wait to load the program into memory the first time you use Sigma Magic software.
Will the uninstall process delete the project files I created using this software?
No, Sigma Magic will only delete the installation files and update the Registry. It will not delete any files you may have created using this software.
What if I have an older software version installed on my system?
Sigma Magic will overwrite the software installation, so the older version will no longer work on your computer. If you want to revert to a previous version of Sigma Magic, you will need to save the setup file for that version and then rerun it to reinstall the older version of the software. You should first uninstall the older version of the software from the control panel before you install the newer version.
Will the software work on Macintosh computers running Excel?
No, the software currently works only on Windows OS and does not run on Mac OS. You will need to use the dual boot option or software such as Parallels Desktop (R) to be able to run a Windows OS on your MAC to use this software.
Can I use a different version of the R software?
Yes, you can use different versions of the R software if you have multiple versions installed on your computer. You will need to click on the Options button and change the link to the script file based on the version of the R software you want to use to perform the analysis.
